Meet the Founders

Ross Mullins & Charné Olivier

Powerbase Physiotherapy was founded in May 2022 by Ross Mullins and Charné Olivier, two dedicated professionals with a passion for excellence in physiotherapy.

  • Ross Mullins, coming from Ireland, and Charné Olivier, from South Africa, bring a unique international perspective to the clinic. Their diverse backgrounds and extensive international studies and experience across the United Kingdom, United States and Luxembourg have shaped the foundation of Powerbase Physiotherapy. They designed the innovative Powerbase Method, ensuring that all treatments are rooted in evidence-based approaches, delivering the highest standard of care to the patients.

  • Their commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive environment is evident in the vibrant community they've fostered. At Powerbase, English speakers from all walks of life can feel comfortable, understood, and well-cared for. Adding to the international clinic environment, the rest of the physiotherapy team comes from Germany, France and Belgium. FAQs

  • We accept private paying patients, without a referral at Powerbase. However, if you would like to have CNS cover, you will need a doctor prescription/ordonnance. Additionally, if you are not with CNS your private insurance providers may still require a referral from a doctor, so it is best to check with your insurance company.

  • You can book an appointment by calling our clinic, visiting our website, or using Doctena, our online booking system.

Please visit our Contact Us page and provide your contact information and preferred appointment times, and we will get back to you to confirm.

  • The physiotherapist will conduct a comprehensive assessment, which includes a review of your medical history, a physical examination, and a discussion about your symptoms and goals. Based on this assessment, a personalized treatment plan will be developed.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy movement. For specific treatments, such as those involving the lower limbs, shorts or gym attire may be recommended.

  • The number of sessions required varies depending on the individual and the condition being treated. Your physiotherapist will discuss your treatment plan and expected duration during your initial assessment. The duration of a physiotherapy session is typically 30 minutes.

  • We accept various payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers. Please contact our clinic for more details on payment options if needed.

  • Physiotherapy is generally safe, but some patients may experience mild soreness or discomfort after treatment, similar to what you might feel after exercise. This is normal and usually resolves quickly. Your physiotherapist will guide you on managing any of these reactions post treatment.

  • CNS Coverage Explained:

CNS in Luxembourg provides substantial coverage for physiotherapy, ensuring that necessary treatments are accessible and affordable. Powerbase Physiotherapy aligns with this mission by focusing on reducing financial stress for patients and ensuring a seamless and supportive treatment experience. Complementary insurance can further alleviate any out-of-pocket expenses, making high-quality physiotherapy care accessible to all.

    Medical Prescription:
Physiotherapy must be prescribed by a doctor for CNS coverage. The prescription is essential for reimbursement.

    Reimbursement Percentage:
Typically, CNS covers 70% of the standard rates for physiotherapy sessions. The patient is responsible for the remaining 30%. In the cases of severe pathology, post-operative care and paediatric/adolescence, CNS covers 100%.

    Session Limits:
The number of sessions covered by CNS depends on the medical condition and the doctor’s prescription. For chronic conditions, extended coverage may be provided, subject to approval.

    Prescription Submission:
The prescription must be submitted to the CNS for approval by the physiotherapist before starting the physiotherapy sessions. The prescription has a 1-month deadline for submission from the prescription date.

    Third-party payment system:
The insured person only pays the physiotherapist the portion payable by them (30% of total cost). The physiotherapist sends the invoice to CNS at the end of the treatment to receive the part of the costs covered by health insurance.

    Complementary Insurance:
Many residents also have complementary health insurance that can cover the remaining costs not reimbursed by the CNS.
