Your Treatment Timeline
Throughout the entire patient pathway, our dedicated team of physiotherapists is committed to providing compassionate care, comprehensive education, and support to help individuals not only recover from their injury but also empower them to take control of their health and well-being for the long term.
-
Patients can conveniently schedule appointments using our online system, Doctena. Alternatively, they can reach out to us via phone or through our Contact page on our website to book an appointment.
-
Upon arrival, patients undergo an initial assessment where our experienced physiotherapists:
• Review medical history: past injuries, surgeries or medical conditions.
• Discuss symptoms: location and type of symptoms, severity and factors exacerbating or alleviating them.
• Physical examination is performed to assess your range of motion, strength, balance, and any specific functional limitations.
-
• Diagnosis is discussed, explaining how it is related to your symptoms and functional limitations.
• Treatment options, healing times and frequency of appointments discussed.
-
Pain management techniques, including manual therapy such as massage, joint mobilisation, and manipulation, are utilised to alleviate symptoms and provide immediate relief.
-
Patients are guided through rehabilitation exercises tailored to their specific needs in our fully equipped rehabilitation gym. The exercises not only target the affected area but also address any underlying issues contributing to the injury by correcting muscle imbalances, improving strength, flexibility, and range of motion, and ultimately preventing recurrence of the injury.
-
In addition to traditional physiotherapy techniques, our clinic incorporates the latest technology to enhance patient care. This may include the use of electrotherapy modalities such as ultrasound, TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation), or Normatec compression therapy, as well as innovative tools like motion guidance/biofeedback devices for enhancing muscle control and relaxation.
-
Collaboration to establish realistic and achievable goals. These goals may focus on pain relief, improved function, increased mobility, strength gains or returning to specific activities or sport.
-
To support ongoing progress and recovery, patients are given access to an online exercise portal and provided with a customized home exercise program. Additionally, coping strategies are discussed to empower patients in managing their condition effectively between clinic appointments.
